When visiting North Carolina, we recommend visiting Lake Norman. The lake is known to be the lakeside of the destination of Charlotte— the largest manmade body of water in North Carolina. The area gets to experience seasoned climates, so boaters can enjoy a vast selection of water experiences that they might not be able to try as easily elsewhere. The water activities in the Charlotte area are as varied as the waters themselves, with boaters being able to schedule and rent guided fishing charters, powerboats, yachts, sailboats, canoes and kayaks. If you’re looking to rent a boat on Lake Norman, check out some of the GetMyBoat boat hire that are docked on All Seasons Marina.
Another location that is filled with water experiences North Carolina's Mountain Island Lake. The lake can be found northwest of Charlotte, following the course of Catawba River. Although the main function for this lake is to provide fresh water access to the residents of Charlotte, Mountain Island Lake is also a publicly open boating spot of locals and visitors of North Carolina. Fishing is one of the most popular activities in Mountain Island Lake primarily because they can try the brackish waters of the Catawba River. Guided fishing charters and boat hire is available for interested anglers visiting the lake. Expect to catch a variety of fish like bluegill, largemouth bass, and catfish
The Outer Banks of North Carolina is also a destination where many people like to spend their time on the water. The Outer Banks is a barrier of islands of the coast of North Carolina and famously known as the country’s first National Seashore. Their endless shores, open sea beaches, vacation homes, boat hire, and diving sites makes this a popular destination for many visitors traveling to North Carolina. As for on the water activities, the Outer Banks does not disappoint. Expect to find sail boats, jet skis, motor boats, fishing charters, kayaks, and canoes to rent out during your stay.
Aside from water activities in North Carolina, the state also hosts a number of exciting festivals that celebrate a wide range of art forms. Cucalorus is a renowned independent film festival, and the Cape Fear Independent Film Network puts on an annual film festival for those interested in filmography and visual arts. Music lovers might want to see if their boating trip coincides with one of several music festivals that take place annually in Wilmington, such as the North Carolina Jazz Festival and the Cape Fear Blues Festival. There’s even an azalea festival – the North Carolina Azalea Festival – which is sponsored by the Cape Fear Garden Club, and takes place every spring with a street fair, concert series, interactive displays, home and garden tours, exhibits, a circus, art shows, and a parade.

GetMyBoat customer reviews for boat rentals in North Carolina.
We thoroughly enjoyed using the boat during our trip. Bob cleaned and disinfected it between users, and he was available for any questions we had. Overall great value and vessel! One thing we learned is that Mountain Island Lake does not connect to Lake Norman, and there is a great shallow area to anchor up and take a dip!
Matthew’s boat was spotless and clean. He was very quick to respond to my questions and gave clear instructions of how and where to pick up/ return the boat. Refilling the tank at the end of the day was also very easy and nearby. The rental price is also consistent with others in the area. If you don’t know Lake Keowee, be sure to drop a pin on Apple Maps before you are underway!
Art was very communicative throughout the process. The boat was fantastic, we had 13 people and everyone was comfortable. The boat is beautiful and would definitely rent from Art again. Boat slip is in prime location!
This was such an amazing experience! I had to do a lot of back and forth with Kimberly(because of my group) and she was nothing but nice and accommodating. She called the day of to make sure everything was good. Everything that was outlined was accurate, and more. Captain Sean was amazing! Professional, fun, but also thorough about safety which is key. 10 out of 10!
We had an outstanding experience renting from Suzanne and her team. What an awesome day on the water for our family --- fishing, tubing, swimming, and cruising the beautiful Falls Lake. We loved it and will be back for more soon!
Matthew was great! A pleasure to work with and a super big help. He responded to my messages very quickly and answered any questions I had. He even helped us carry our coolers on board!! Boat was perfect! We had a great time!! He had all the equipment and life jackets we needed and even a tube for the kids to use. We will definitely use him again next time we went to go out!!
