It is quite distant from the coast - one hour and a half by ferry from Zadar and it remains one of those few places where you can enjoy tranquillity even in high season, ideal for tourists that will appreciate the peace and the natural beauties. Island Dugi Otok beaches are different from one area to another. In the area of village Sali, the largest village on the island, there are mainly rocky beaches with stone terraces and cliffs surrounded with pine woods. In the northern part of the island there are some sandy beaches accessible only with boats and the beautiful beach Saharun reachable by car as well. Nearby is the Pantera bay with sandy beaches. • Saharun Saharun or Sakarun sandy beach is situated on the north west coast of Dugi Otok, south of Soline and near Bozava and Veli Rat. The Saharun beach is a long beach facing the open Adriatic sea. It is a beautiful cove of white sand, which gives the water turquoise color, and surrounded by pine woods. Even 200 m far from the coast, the sea is shallow only up to your waist. One of the attractions is a 41-metre-tall lighthouse in the vicinity of Saharun, at Veli Rat. Island has other beautiful sandy beaches accessible only with boats. Waters in this area are rich in fish, while the well-indented coastline is perfect for watersports enthusiasts. • Otok Ugljan; Sabuša, Kostanj,Jelenica Sabusa beach is situated on the west coast of the island, which looks on Dugi otok (Long island), about 15 minutes of walk from Kukljica. The coast of the beach is arranged while the seabottom is sandy. The water is shallow and suitable for small children and various watergames. It is also known by it shealing mud. 10 minutes walking to the north of Sabusa, there is a Small Sabusa beach. It is a secluded sandy beach suitable for those who want a quiet place for swimming and sunbathing (clothing is optional). South of Sabusa there is Jelenica naturist / nudist beach with sandy seabottom and surrounded by olive trees and Mediterranean macchia. Further to the south, before the southest point of Ugljan, there is a small nudist islet of Karantunic, which is also a favorite scubadiving spot. Sabusa and Jelenica, as already mentioned, can be reached by foot from Kukljica, but even better solution is to rent a motor boat and drive yourself there going around the island. Kostanj beach is situated north from Kukljica, about 15 minutes of walking by coast from Kukljica. This is a sand beach shaded by centuries-old pines. Sea depth is suitable for small children. • Kornati The Kornati archipelago consists of 140 islands, islets and cliffs, with 89 of them declared a National Park because of its natural beauty due to its numerous cove and crystal clear blue waters. It spreads over a surface of 220m2 and declared a national park in 1980 due to its unique shape and beauty. There are no permanent residents of the islands and most of the area belongs to the people of Murter island, who come to tend the olive groves, the vineyards and orchards. Because of the exceptional beauty of the islands, interesting geomorphology, diversitiy of shore line and rich biodiversity of the marine ecosystem Kornati islands should be a must see destination to everyone.
