Sailing Excursions on Buzzards Bay awaits! Our fleet includes a J 105 and Dyer 29 as well as an Ensign 22 training sloop. We offer sailing, sightseeing, lessons and special occasions. We have a variety of itineraries to make your day on the water the best day ever. Our pricing depends on whether you want a private or public charter. Public sails are $70 per person for 2 hours. We need at least four passengers for a public sail. Private charters are $350 for a two hour sail. The maximum number of passengers allowed is 6 people. If you want to sail longer, the rate is $175 for each additional hour; 3 hours is $525, 4 hours is $700 etc. The price includes the captain. Gratuities are not included (a 15-20% tip is the standard rate).

Sailing has been a mainstay in my life since I was shipped off to summer camp in 1972 as a 10 year old boy. Cruising the coast of Maine with my grandfather and fishing Narragansett Bay with my Uncle Bob also cultivated my passion for being on the water. Raising my children, Henry, Trudy and Teddy racing Optis and 420's in Bristol, RI was the highlight of my sailing life. Most of my professional life, I was a high school history teacher and sailing coach. When I retired from teaching, I got my Coast Guard captain's license and I have been sailing charter boats ever since. Its tremendously satisfying sharing my love of sailing and spending quality time on the water with guests on board Hamlet and Petrel. What is the cancellation policy? Public Sails: Tickets aboard public sails are valid only for the date and time purchased. Cancellations made at least one week prior to departure will receive a full refund. Cancellations made with at least 72 hours notice will receive credit for a sail on another date. No refunds or credits will be given within 48 hours of departure. Private Charters: Tickets aboard private charters are valid only for the date and time purchased. Cancellations made at least 10 days prior to departure will receive a 100% refund. If you cancel at least 5 days before departure a credit on another date will be provided. No refunds or credit will be given on cancellations made within 4 days of departure. Weather Cancellations: The final decision to sail due to weather conditions resides with Buzzards Bay Yacht Charters, LLC. If your scheduled sail is called due to adverse weather conditions, you will receive a full refund, a credit for another date or you may give a gift certificate to share with a friend. Our sails will run in light to moderately inclement weather. Don’t worry, we won’t send you out in heavy or steady rain, thick fog, high winds, or if the weather appears threatening. We will sail in cloudy, cold, or overcast conditions, so be sure to dress appropriately for the forecasted weather.
